November 2019 Newsletter

Nancy Bartlett, 2019-2020 NSA North Texas President

A Note from Your President

It is hard to believe that the holidays are upon us. I love this time of year because it causes us to pause and think about people who are important in our lives, and it serves as a gentle reminder to make sure we are focused on what matters most to each one of us. In this season of giving thanks, as speakers, we have many opportunities to “give, give, give”. We are in a unique profession that allows us to do that not only during holidays, but also each and every time we work with our clients and partners. Each NSA North Texas Chapter member has a message she or he believes in deeply and therefore feels compelled to share it with others. However you choose to deliver your message – speaking events, coaching, consulting, daily operations of your business – you deliver that gift year-round. How lucky are we?

I am thankful that ours is a chapter comprised of members from all walks of life. It is remarkable and fun to see how each person has her or his own unique message delivery method and style of work. The monthly meeting and lab speakers we have enjoyed to date clearly demonstrate that there is no “one right way” to run a speaking business, no “one right way” to deliver your message and “no one right way” to package and deliver your content. Imagine that!

Thank you for being a member of NSA North Texas and participating in this unique journey of life-long learning, sharing of expertise, asking questions from your unique perspective and supporting each other’s approach. Thank you for sharing your insights and ideas to ensure we have a year that is meaningful to you. To those who are able to volunteer your time and talents to the chapter, in both large and small ways, we are grateful for all that you do.

May your Thanksgiving be warm and wonderful, and I hope to be able to tell you that in person at our November 9, 2019, NSA North Texas Chapter meeting featuring speaker Beth Ziesenis, CSP. She will give you a wealth of information and ideas on using tech tools to “get stuff done”. You will be thankful you attended!

Imagine your potential,

Nancy Bartlett, CSP
NSA North Texas Chapter President 2019-2020

Vivacious Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are vital to the existence of our chapter. We would love for you to help our programming department and/or greet people when they arrive at our Saturday meetings. One of our founding members, the late Joe Charbonneau, who our Academy is named after said, “You have to give, give, give, to get, get, get.”  I’ll explain from my own experience the importance of giving as it relates to our chapter at our next meeting. To become a Vivacious Volunteer you can sign-up on-line at https://speaker.org/volunteer/ or contact me (Nikki Nanos) at VolunteerNSANT@speaker.org if you have further questions.
