A Note from Your President

Prepare to be indulged this month! Our December 14th Chapter meeting speaker is Joel Weldon, CPAE, who is not only a highly skilled speaker, but an equally skilled speaker’s coach. Joel has coached and critiqued over 10,000 speakers. He has worked with highly successful Hall of Fame speakers, authors and celebrity speakers from both the business and professional sports worlds. For your afternoon session with him, you have a unique opportunity to be part of a smaller group to ask Joel anything you’d like about your topic, your key points, your audience … whatever your heart desires. You should sincerely take advantage of both sessions with Joel.

This year, we also have a fabulous fun holiday party planned for all of you the evening before the meeting, Friday, December 13th. First-rate entertainment and music by our highly talented colleagues, great food – a full dinner buffet – and a full cash bar to enjoy the entertainment, your Chapter colleagues and guests. Kelli Vrla will be our MC for the evening. Kelli and Melanie Murphy will keep us laughing, and live music will be provided by Freddy Bozas and our own Dean Lindsay, Donna Mack and Gary Rifkin!

You also can indulge in our Silent Auction during the party. Funds raised from this event will be shared with the NSA Foundation and our NSA North Texas Chapter. I highly encourage you to donate an item (or more than one!) for the Auction. Whether it be a service you provide to your clients, a creative item or gift basket you create, or items you can have donated by some of your favorite vendors and service providers, all donations are welcome. This is not only in the Sprit of Cavett to raise funds for the Foundation and the Chapter, but it’s also an opportunity to discover some unique holiday gifts without going to a mall or waiting to see if that FedEx, UPS or US Mail truck will arrive in time for your gift giving events!

Dr. Mary Warren is our Hospitality Chairwoman this year, and she says this is a not-to-be- missed event. If you want to volunteer to help her decorate the party room or volunteer to help with the auction, please let her know. Mary has enlisted our colleague Charlotte Canion to coordinate the Auction items. As 2019 comes to a close, I wish you the happiest of holidays, the warmth of family and friends sharing stories, cheer and good food, and you wrapping up 2019 to make room for a successful 2020.

Many of you help businesses grow with your services and talents. Now it’s time to help your fellow members AND the NSA Foundation. Donate your time and products to the silent auction for members to bid to win.

Maybe your everyday work doesn’t fit. No problem! You can donate a basket of goodies, or restaurants gift cards, etc. Get creative!

HOLIDAY ELVES NEEDED!

The holiday party is a team effort and we’d love for you to help bring this special night to life.  Please contact Mary Warren or Nikki Nanos to volunteer to set-up and decorate and welcome all NSA-NT holiday revelers.

We can use volunteers year round, not just during the holidays. Volunteers are vital to the existence of our chapter. We would love for you to help our programing department and/or greet people when they arrive at our Saturday meetings.
