A Note from Your President

The N in Intentional is for No Limits.

The question is how far could you go if you did not know your limits?

As a kid did you ever do anything that people were amazed by? Let’s say you ran 2,000 miles in 90 days (as a teen) or rode a bike 100 miles each Saturday as a workout, just for fun (in your 30’s), or in your late 50’s writing a book a year for 6 years. Individually each one of those tasks was amazing.

What if nobody told you these actions were not normal, until after the tasks were complete? Then these people shared with you these were not normal actions and told you how tired you should be. So, you became tired and stopped.

These stories were about the lack of limiting thoughts, either internal or external. Without input from others, you could have continued these actions and not given another thought. They were your normal actions. That is until someone told us differently.

How many times do we limit our efforts based on other people’s input, then we question our efforts? Do you do it in your business? “What if” as Mike Rayburn might say.

Speaking of comparisons, what a year of continued change. We hope you were able to join us on March 31st as we discussed the changes taking place at the Nation Level for Membership beginning April 5th. We offered an Open Call to discuss the changes to prepare you for what the future membership might look like at the National level. We will be posting the video for those that missed this important information.

Soon we will be getting closer to our new next. In April and May, we will continue to be virtual-only. However, please mark your calendar for Dr. John B Molidor, CSP, on June 12th and join us at our favorite meeting place, the Hilton Garden Inn in Richardson! Be prepared to choose your color red, yellow, or green. More about the colors as we get closer to our June Chapter Meeting.

Other quick reminders to join us this month for our Chapter Meeting with Terry Brock CSP, CPAE, Speaker Forum, Master Minds, Labs, and a special event featuring Mary Kelly CSP, CPAE.

Watch for more information on the Member of the Year Nominations and voting.

Help me acknowledge our Board of Directors and volunteers who have spent many hours to provide you with all the content being delivered.

What did you do to move forward this past month?

NSA NT Community Outreach

This month we are again focusing on our community partner,

Metrocrest Services

Metrocrest was HIT HARD with the pandemic and the Texas ice storm.

Please learn more about this incredible organization, consider making a donation, or volunteer to support its current needs.

HOPE, RELIEF, RECOVERY, this is what Metrocrest Services provided the community as we struggled to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, Metrocrest Services helped 28,066 people navigate the crisis. Of those served, 60% were requesting assistance for the very first time.

Metrocrest Services’ mission is to provide programs that lead to self-sufficiency and foster independence for individuals, families, and seniors living in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and Dallas in Denton County.

With all the challenges brought to our neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic, Metrocrest Services is putting in extra effort to meet the unprecedented demand for services. Since the pandemic began, they’ve seen a 129% increase in the numbers clients served. Thankfully, so far, they have not had to turn anyone away. Your gift will help families, children, and seniors living in Carrollton, Addison, Farmers Branch, Coppell, and Dallas in Denton County get through these difficult times.

“I felt lonely and powerless not having a plate of food to give to my children. Metrocrest Services was there to help. Now, I don’t feel so alone because I know they’ll always be there to lend a hand. That makes all the difference. I love you Metrocrest”- Food Pantry Client-

URGENT Food Pantry Volunteers Needed!

The last 13 months have had many ups and downs.

As you look back, what have you learned? Maybe you realized you were more resilient than you thought. Maybe you found that friends aren’t that far away after all. (Thanks, Zoom!) Maybe you became more aware of what’s important to you. Did you tap into your inner baker?

Hopefully, some of those and more resonate. While it’s been hard, we have each received gifts we could have never known we needed. Become aware of what those are and hold them close. The next time you encounter a dark time, you can draw upon this experience.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, and there are streams of sunshine along the way.
