A Note from Your President

Greetings from NSA Influence 2019! As I write this message to you, many of our Chapter members are attending the NSA annual conference in Denver. Our opening General Session yesterday with the truly inspirational and motivational speaker, Erik Weihenmayer, was the perfect beginning for us. The conference theme is focused on Transformation, a concept that applies to each of us as we travel into the next decade.

It also aligns perfectly with our NSA North Texas theme for the new year: Imagine your potential! Our Chapter meeting speakers, our labs, and special events will pique your imagination from a variety of perspectives and will inspire you to think about and evaluate numerous possibilities for you and your speaking business.

You, the speaker, will benefit most from the 2019-2020 year by engaging, participating and taking advantage of all the opportunities being offered to you. For those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to attend our Speakers Academy, consider that an extra and deeper level of learning. It will significantly enhance your knowledge as to how you can create and manage a successful speaking business. You will not be disappointed in the content, the faculty and the comradery you will build with your fellow participants.

Your Board of Directors and Leadership Team members participated in a retreat on July 12th. Everyone accessed their energy, expertise and imagination to plan an exciting year for you. Our three goals for the upcoming year are:

  • Enhance our members’ experiences
  • Support the NSA Foundation
  • Assist Candidate Members in becoming Professional Members and current Professional Members in achieving their CSP

Everything we do in the coming year will support these three big goals.

So many of you have let me know how excited you are to hear our August speaker, Simon Bailey! I had a quick visit with him yesterday at the conference, and he is jazzed about being with us in August. He will set your imagination on fire! I look forward to seeing each of you at our first Chapter meeting of the year on August 10, 2019.
