July 2016 Newsletter – President Update – Chris Price

Let’s Take a Break

Let's take a breakJuly is our traditional break as a Chapter. This allows us to transition our volunteer leadership team, and provides the space for us to participate in the NSA National Convention in Phoenix on July 23-26, 2016.

We consistently have one of the highest Convention participation rates among all NSA Chapters. And again this year, we will be purchasing NSA Foundation Special Event tickets for all Chapter Members and Candidates who attend Influence 2016. If you are looking for a great way to develop yourself and your business, please join us in representing the North Texas Chapter in Phoenix!

Click HERE for more information on Influence 2016. There is still time to register and be there with us!

  • PLUS, if you attend Influence 2016, you will receive an additional $50 off our famous All-Access Pass for the upcoming 2016-17 NSA-NT Year, which begins in August.

Trust me – while our NSA-NT Chapter events are spectacular, attending the NSA National Convention is something you don’t want to miss! It’s a terrific opportunity to learn and interact with talented experts from around the world.

Valuable Discounts!

Don’t forget to take advantage of the $50 discount on your membership renewal by July 31st. Also for those interested in our Charbonneau Speaker Academy we are honoring the old rate of $400 till the end of July. The new rate as of August 1st will be $597.

If you are interested in the All-Access Pass you can get up to $150 in savings! Early Bird $50 discount if you sign up by the August 13th meeting – plus $50 off if you went to the Winter Conference in Austin this past February – plus $50 off if you attend the Convention in Phoenix in July.
June Meeting Shout-Outs

  • Gary Rifkin, CSP, 2015 Cavett Winner – for bringing his unparalleled speaking business expertise to our year-ending ED (Foreman) Talk. As you would expect, Gary shared his special knowledge in the selfless and giving Spirit of Cavett. A wonderful example of what NSA is all about!
  • Walter Bond, CSP, CPAE – for his powerful and energetic Year Finale session on Who Said Talk is Cheap? When I experienced Walter’s CPAE Hall-of-Fame induction speech at Influence 2015 in Washington, DC, I immediately hoped we could bring Walter to NSA North Texas to bring it home for “Your Best Year Yet”. And he completely delivered – what a finish!

Thank You and Farewell

After leading teams in the Corporate world for nearly two decades, and then working mostly alone as a Consultant and Speaker the past few years, I have deeply appreciated the opportunity to lead the talented group of NSA North Texas volunteers this past year. Without these people giving their time and energy, it would be impossible to maintain and grow our NSA North Texas Chapter momentum.

This has been a great learning and reminding experience for me personally, and I am grateful for your support, coaching, feedback and recognition during the process. I’m looking forward to being a part of the Board next year as Immediate Past President – supporting the amazing 2016-17 Leadership Team.

Watch this space next month for the first thoughts on the upcoming NSA Year from your new Chapter President (and 2011-12 Past President), Stu Schlackman, CSP.

And I hope you can join us at our first meeting of the new year – Saturday, August 13th, 2016, with the ridiculously funny and talented Tim Gard, CSP, CPAE. An absolute Don’t Miss!

  • As always, watch our Facebook Group and Speaker.org for more information.
  • Facebook Pro Tip – turn on Notifications for our NSA North Texas group, so you can be notified of activity in the group. This is very helpful if you do not visit Facebook frequently. Click HERE for a quick article on how to do that.
