A Note from Your President

This month at our February 9th Chapter Meeting, we will be celebrating the Legacy of NSA North Texas.

What’s made our NSA North Texas Chapter so successful and an example for others to follow?

Without missing a beat…it’s our Past Presidents and Extraordinary Chapter Member Legacies!

NSA North Texas started in 1981 with around 20 members. And today in 2019 we have 181 members and are one of the leading NSA Chapters in the United States.

NSA North Texas has had very special people that have made a mark on our chapter – that have left incredible legacies that live on in our chapters heart. Their principles and ethics, philosophies and achievements have become immortal, spreading and growing stronger from year to year.

In February we will honor our Past Presidents.   Their legacies in this chapter have touched many!

We also celebrate the different Board of Directors from 1980-2019 that have dedicated their time, hard work and strong efforts in working collaboratively to make our NSA NT Chapter excel.

They are our true leaders. They all have had the “NSA Blue” running in their veins. Their actions have created a legacy that continues to inspire speakers to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. Those are the qualities of excellent leaders! And those are the qualities of our NSA North Texas Chapter!

The final mark of a good leader is that they leave behind in others the conviction and will to carry on!

For every member in our chapter – Candidates, Academy Members, Professional Members, Board of Directors, CSP’s, CPAE’s and our two Cavett Award Winners Gary Rifkin and Randy Pennington…. Thank you for leaving your mark on our NSA North Texas Chapter. It will never be erased.

Live, Love, Laugh and Always Leave a Legacy my Fellow NSA NT Chapter Members!

NSA-NT February 9th, 2018 Meeting — Dan Thurmon, CSP, CPAE, NSA President

Program

Title: Doing What it Takes: How to differentiate and deliver in today’s competitive marketplace.

Hall of Fame speaker Dan Thurmon will deliver an experience that distills his most valuable lessons from 25 years in the speaking business. He will share excerpts from his programs and insights for crafting and delivering presentations. And as an added bonus, Dan will provide valuable insights about the business of speaking that will help you succeed in the most competitive marketplace ever. Come prepared with questions, and bring a guest, as this promises to be a fun, informative, and action-packed program!

Key Takeaways:

  • You’ll learn specific performance techniques that will set you apart from your competition and elevate your mastery of the platform.
  • You’ll gain a sure-fire system for designing dynamic presentations.
  • Discover how to increase your revenue by increasing your relevance.

About Dan Thurmon:

Dan Thurmon is the author of two books, a renowned speaker, and a recognized expert in delivering peak performances – on stage and in the workplace. As president of Motivation Works, Inc., he has worked with hundreds of clients and delivered thousands of presentations worldwide. Dan helps organizations and individuals implement actions plans and move confidently through transitions. He began his performance career at eleven years old, crafting a one-man-show incorporating comedy, juggling and acrobatics. This enabled him to, at a very early age, develop a strong work ethic and learn fundamental lessons about performance excellence. Dan graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Marketing and Management. He has also extensively studied Personal Development and developed a unique methodology he teaches to audiences and clients.

A recent inductee to the prestigious “Speakers Hall of Fame,” Dan Thurmon delivers experiences that go beyond motivation, teaching concepts and skills in a highly engaging and entertaining manner. He incorporates his lifelong performance skills to create high impact events. His programs have educated and uplifted Fortune 500 companies, young audiences, and even the troops on the front lines of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Dan’s philosophy can be summarized by the title of his book, Off Balance On Purpose. He believes that we will never achieve “perfect balance” and should, instead, learn to embrace uncertainty and initiate positive changes that lead to growth. Also, we should go beyond the pursuit of “success” and enhance our life experiences and professional endeavors with purposeful, positive contributions.

Monday, February 18, 2019 / 6:30p-9:00p

How To Grow a Speaking Empire

Want to know how to leverage your platform? Learn how Jeffrey Hayzlett took his books and speaking platform to a new level by influencing the media.

  • how to book 150+ keynotes/year
  • how we landed a prime-time television show
  • how we leverage every show and every speech to get more events and more speeches
  • how social media accounts for most of our leads and bookings
  • how we use our branding to make sure we are seen in the best positioning

How we turned a TV show into a Business Network

That is just some of it— because the biggest thing we will do- is answer any and all questions you may have about how we do things — what works and what has failed miserably. So, bring your questions, any and all. Ask whatever you want and we will be glad to share. We will show you EVERYTHING— our marketing samples, our marketing plan, contracts, tweets, social media activation worksheets—–anything and everything.

We won’t have all the answers or the ‘right’ way to do things. But what we do works for us and we are glad to share how we do it and if there is something you can borrow or learn from, well that is great!

Benefits of attending:

  • Open dialogue amongst fellow speakers on what is working and what isn’t
  • learn how to leverage your platform to expand your reach
  • turn your brand into a community
  • discover how the media game is changing
