What it is:
The Charbonneau Speakers Academy exists to support your success as an emerging speaker. The overarching goal is to shorten your learning curve by five years. The program focuses on the business of speaking which will include coaching on your content, structure, and delivery. Whether just starting out or more experienced, the Academy delivers a powerful learning experience to accelerate your career as a paid speaker. The 10-month program exposes you to experts, tools, knowledge , and skills to boost your career.

The curriculum aligns with the National Speaker’s Association four “E” model of Expertise, Eloquence, Enterprise, Ethics. You can expect to explore the speaking business in a structured, fun, and safe learning environment.
You will be assigned a successful, volunteer mentor from our chapter to benefit from his/her wisdom and avoid costly mistakes. You will receive the sharing knowledge and experience to help you hone your skill in topic development, storytelling, showcasing, stage presence and business knowledge. Each member will have a showcase video you can use on your website. Most important, you have the opportunity to build important and supportive relationships for the present and the future.

2016 – 2017 Schedule
The Academy will meet from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on the Monday following the NSA-NT monthly meeting. Meetings will be held at Canyon Creek Country Club, 625 West Lookout Drive, Richardson, TX 75080.

Academy Deans for 2016-2017
Nikki holds a M.F.A. in Acting from California Institute of the Arts. Her eclectic career in theatre, film and television have taken her down a path filled with fascinating people and experiences. From working in locations on the CBS television series Walker, Texas Ranger to holding the hand of the great Ella Fitzgerald. Nikki brings her theatre and film expertise to the speaking arena with
her. At the heart of her messages … she is convinced we can create a culture of kindness in all we do.
Executive, newspaper columnist, chef, entrepreneur, tap dancer, equestrian, philanthropist-what a mash-up! Alex has taught more than 10,000 to speak with authentic grace and compelling energy. Today, she is laser focused on Leadership skills. She juggles teaching Entrepreneurship at SMU, while presiding over LodeStar Universal, the Center Stage program, and her family’s award-winning travel company. An NSA NT past- president with an MBA from UT Austin, Alex is a Dallas native with two adored grands Preston (4) and Campbell (2).
